Dams under the Loukkos Hydraulic Basin Agency in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region have reached a combined filling rate of 94.2 percent as of Monday, February 16, according to updated data published by the “Al Ma Dialna” platform of the Ministry of Equipment and Water.
Total water reserves in these dams stand at 1,802.6 million cubic meters, reflecting improved water inflows recorded in recent weeks.
Seven dams have reached full capacity, including Oued El Makhazine Dam, Charif Al Idrissi Dam, Smir Dam, Ibn Battouta Dam, Moulay Hassan Ben El Mehdi Dam, Chefchaouen Dam and Nakhla Dam.
Three additional dams have exceeded 95 percent capacity, namely Dar Khrofa Dam at 98 percent, Kharroub Dam at 97 percent and Tanger Med Dam at 95 percent.
Other facilities have also recorded increases, including 9 April 1947 Dam at 71 percent, Mohammed Ben Abdelkrim Al Khattabi Dam at 57 percent and Jomaa Dam at 30 percent, while nationwide dam reserves exceed 11,833 million cubic meters with an overall filling rate of 70.6 percent.
